Coinrule is based in London with partial FCA UK regulation, UK infrastructure so partially outside EU post-Brexit but not on the AMF blacklist. Standard 'unclear' status but more reassuring than Pionex (blacklisted) or 3Commas (2022 incident). For a French AMF-conscious user, it's a valid option.

Coinrule supports 10 exchanges, but multi-exchange orchestration is less smooth than with 3Commas or Bitsgap. If your primary need is multi-exchange, look elsewhere.
Demo mode is real-time, not a true deep historical backtest. For this need, Bitsgap is significantly better.
Coinrule has no native Python or Pine Script. If you want to code, go for Trality or HaasOnline. Coinrule is intentionally no-code.

Coinrule's differentiator is its no-code drag-and-drop with unlimited demo mode. No direct competitor goes as far in 'zero technical learning curve': 3Commas and Bitsgap require understanding underlying concepts, Cryptohopper has a marketplace but no visual rule builder. The downside is the Pro tier pricing at $449/month, which is out of reach for the general public, and the lack of custom scripting, which limits advanced use cases. Coinrule is the smoothest learning ramp, not the pro Swiss Army knife.

There is no profitability guarantee. On grid trading with range-bound pairs, first profits typically appear in 2-4 weeks if the market stays in range. On long-term DCA, expect 6-24 months minimum. Outcome depends on market, capital and strategy. Test in demo or paper trading before committing cash.

Three major risks : (1) market - a crashing crypto loses capital even with a well-tuned bot, (2) platform - bankruptcy, hack or regulatory pull of the exchange/bot can lock your funds, (3) configuration - a poorly restricted API key or miscalibrated grid can amplify losses. Always test in paper trading and limit exposed capital.
If the bot platform shuts down, your bots stop but your funds remain on the connected exchange (they never went through the bot). If the exchange itself shuts down, it's more serious : withdrawals, KYC, sometimes weeks of delay. That's why we favor PSAN/MiCA-registered exchanges for long-term funds.
In a bear market, classic grid trading amplifies losses (you accumulate during the fall). Prefer extended DCA (averaged buys over 12-24 months) or short futures with tight stops for advanced traders. Otherwise, better stay out and wait for the next cycle.
